After the death of his wife, Fred, a devout Church going believer, leads a dull monotonous life. But things take an unexpected turn when he meets Theo, a mentally challenged man, who comes into his life and leads him to rediscover his own life again.

Ebbinge studied at The School for Drama & Contemporary Music Theatre in Amsterdam. He has extensive credits as an actor and starred in numerous TV series and films. He directed two short films, Naked and award-winning Succes and a TV-movie “Just Hans.” Matterhorn is his first feature film.
