Awards
Competition
The Competition was open to all Japanese films at least 15 minutes in length, which were shot and edited digitally and completed in 2024 or 2025. This year, we received 271 entries, and a total of the thirteen films were selected through a rigorous preliminary selection. These young film creators, who will pave the way to the future of cinema, have completed films after earnestly exploring their methods of expression. All of them will be screened for the first time in the world. From science fiction and animation to documentaries and drama, a diverse lineup of ambitious new films awaits. After the final round of judging by three jury members who are well-versed in current Japanese films, the Grand Prize will be given to the winners. In addition, the SKIP CITY AWARD will be given to a director who demonstrates strong potential in feature-length filmmaking.
