In Manila, there are children called the "Bakal Boys" who dive for scrap metals to sell. One day, the boys find an anchor. But later, Utoy notices his friend Bungal is missing. As he desperately searches for his friend, Utoy starts hearing the voice of a mermaid beckoning him into the sea.

Ralston G. Jover
Born 1965 in Manila, Jover has written screenplays for internationally acclaimed films such as The Bet Collector (2006), Foster Child (2007), Slingshot (2007) and The Teacher (2006). He made his directorial debut with a documentary film entitled Marlon (2008), which won the Best Documentary Award at Cinemanila International Film Festival. Children Metal Divers (2009), his first theatrical feature film, has screened at many international film festivals including Pusan, Vancouver, and Thessaloniki.
