Born in Seoul in 1976, Shin dropped out of college to start his career as an independent filmmaker and made his directorial debut, A Great Actor (2005), has screened at many international film festivals including Pusan, Rotterdam, Fribourg, and Brisbane. His second feature film, The Fair Love (2009), premiered at Pusan.
