How to Apply
To be eligible for the SKIP CITY KINETEC International Film Festival, it is a mandatory requirement that your work creatively incorporates new technologies. Below is a general overview of the application process. Please ensure you read the full Submission Rules and Regulations before officially submitting.
Application Deadline
Monday, August 31, 2026
※Online entry submissions are accepted until 12:00 PM (Noon) JST on August 31, 2026.
Entry Fee
Free (There is no submission fee).
Categories & Runtime Restrictions
- ・Feature Length Category:60 minutes or longer
- ・Short Length Category:Less than 60 minutes
- ・NEXT Category: No runtime restrictions
・Please note that works that do not fit into the runtime criteria above cannot be accepted.
Requirements for Submission
1.Entry Form:
- You must thoroughly read, understand, and agree to the Rules and Regulations. Follow the instructions to fill out and submit the online entry form.
2.Screener Material:
- Provide a streaming URL for an online screener (principally restricted/private links on Vimeo or YouTube) within the entry form. We do not accept file downloads via FTP servers or cloud storage. If the language of the film is not Japanese or English, the screener must include English or Japanese subtitles. DVD or Blu-ray submissions are not accepted.
Critical Notices:
※Unfinished works will not be accepted.
※Re-submissions of works produced prior to June 30, 2025, that have only been partially re-edited will not be accepted.
※If you wish to submit two or more works simultaneously, you must submit a separate entry form for each work, clearly stating the title and director's name, and provide the respective screener materials.
※Submitted materials and components will not be returned under any circumstances.
Completion of Application
Once you submit the online entry form, an automatic confirmation email will be sent to you.
Notification of Selection Results
All applicants will be notified of their results via the email address provided in the entry form by the end of December 2026.
General Agreements
All submissions are deemed to have understood and agreed to the Rules and Regulations. If any false information is found in the entry form, the work may be disqualified from nomination. Please ensure you review the rules thoroughly before applying.
