Cinema Category
The purpose of this category is to legitimately inherit the 22-year legacy built by the SKIP CITY INTERNATIONAL D-Cinema FESTIVAL as a gateway for young visual creators, and to continue discovering and launching emerging talents who will carry the future of the film industry.
With this update to our festival structure, we have refreshed our core keyword from "D-Cinema (Digital Cinema)" to "Cutting-Edge Visual Technology." We are seeking ambitious film works (narrative features, documentaries, etc.) that update visual expression by harnessing technology. Please note that when entering, you must clearly specify in the application form the specific parts of the work or the concrete techniques where you utilized "cutting-edge visual technology."
- ・Feature Length Category: For works with a runtime of 60 minutes or longer.
- ・Short Length Category: For works with a runtime of less than 60 minutes.
NEXT Category
We are seeking ambitious works that transcend the existing concepts of cinema and challenge new forms of visual expression. This category welcomes all types of visual works (no genre restrictions, no runtime limits) that have updated expression through technology, including AI-generated videos, vertical videos, music videos (MVs), media art, experimental films, and animations utilizing game engines. Just as with the Cinema Category, you must clearly specify the sections where the technology was utilized upon entry.
Judging Process & Jury
Nomination Selection:
Selection committee members appointed by the Executive Committee will select works suitable for nomination from among the submissions.
Final Judging:
A jury panel appointed by the Executive Committee will evaluate the nominated works and select the winners for each prize.
