Humming Life

Director Takashi Kubota is based in the incubation offices of Sai-No-Kuni Visual Plaza and he has been producing digital cinema from there. He got a prize of the SKIP CITY D-Cinema FESTIVAL 2005 Short Length Competition section. Then he directed the feature length film Humming Life. This movie was also featured at last year's Tokyo International Film Festival in a special screening. It is based on the novel by popular author Wataru Nakamura. The title track is the famous rock band GOING UNDER GROUND's hit song "Humming Life". Also included are many other songs that will touch your heart. The movie features Maki Nishiyama and the so-called "musical prince" Yoshio Inoue. It is a fresh love story about a young couple.

Lisbon Village International D-Cinema Festival 2007 Selection

Lisbon Village International D-Cinema Festival is the first European digital cinema festival started in 2006 in Lisbon, Portugal. We present the nominees of this year's international short film competition and Portuguese spoken short film competition. This is an excellent opportunity to see rare Portuguese films in Japan.
Lisbon Village International D-Cinema Festival (VIDCF) is one of the main pillars of The Lisbon Village Festival (LVF), a big digital cultural event held annually in Lisbon. This year, VIDCF will be held from June 18th to 24th with International Feature Films Competition, International Short Films Competition, Portuguese Spoken Short Film Competition, Village Xpress - competition for students with Mini DV and DVD productions. The Summer of Stickleback (Director : Mayu Nakamura / 2006 / 98 min) and some Japanese short films selected from SKIP CITY INTERNATIONAL D-Cinema FESTIVAL 2006 nominees will be screened.

Before screening, Fado, a famous traditional Portuguese music will be performed by two Portuguese guitar players, Mr. Masahiro Iizumi and Eiichi Watanabe.

Masahiro Iizumi Born in 1964 in Ibaragi prefecture. Lives in Saitama City.	He is one of only a few Argentine Tango guitarists in Japan. Developing his own world music based on Jazz, Classical and Latin America music, his original arrangements of Piazzolla's works and Classic Tango are widely admired. Since the summer in 2005, he began playing Portugese guitar which is used in popular Folk songs in Portugal. Eichi Watanabe Born in Tokyo in 1965.	Studied guitar under Koichi Hiroki and Jazz under Masayuki Takayanagi. He has been playing guitar with his learning towards Rock, Fusion, Jazz and Bossa nova since he met guitar in his high school. His recent activities are with an acoustic guitar trio (Jazz and Bossa nova standard) and with an original electric guitar trio, and recordings and back-up.
