Ahysa is a prostitute. Asylbek is a sailor. They meet on an ocean liner. Ahysa gives birth at sea and as they get off the ship, Asylbek takes the mother and the baby to his homeland, but what awaits for them is far beyond their imagination.

Director／Miguel Ángel Jiménez
Born 1979 in Madrid, Spain, Jiménez studied cinematography at TAI School in Madrid. In 2001, he shot his first short film Las huellas (Tracks). He and three partners founded Kinoskopik Film Produktion in 2007 and directed a documentary Días de El Abanico. In 2009, his first feature Ori premiered at San Sebastian International Film Festival and won First Film Prizes in Tetouan IFF 2010 and PNR Madrid FF 2010. In 2010, he directed a short film Khorosho, which was selected in 25 national and international film festivals. Chaika is his second feature film.
