Fujino is a fourth-grade elementary school student who draws a four-frame manga series for the school newspaper. After receiving praise from her classmates, she’d grown confident in her talent. But one day, a new four-frame manga by Kyomoto, a truant student, appears in the newspaper. Fujino is stunned by Kyomoto’s exceptional artwork. From that moment on, Fujino devotes herself to drawing with renewed determination. But no matter how hard she tries, she’s unable to narrow the gap between their talents. Disheartened, she eventually gives up on manga altogether.

On the day of their graduation, Fujino is asked by her teacher to deliver Kyomoto’s graduation certificate. Meeting her for the first time, Fujino is surprised when Kyomoto tells her that she’d always been her fan.

Kyomoto was the very person who’d led Fujino to give up, but now connected by their shared devotion to manga, the two girls decide to draw alongside each other. However, one day, an incident shatters everything…
