Hiroshi Tsukada was diagnosed with amyotrophic lateral sclerosis (ALS) at the age 48. He communicates with his wife using movements of his eyes. Hiroshi decides to travel to meet other patients who are battling against ALS.

After studying multimedia-arts, Uchida moved to Los Angeles to continue learning filmmaking and photography. After coming back to Tokyo, she worked for a film production company. Her documentary short, My Pleasant Daily Life in this Paralyzed Body won awards at film festivals in the US and Switzerland. For the Love of Life: Living for Tomorrow is her first feature film.
